LKST IPB University Holds a Seminar on the Results of the 2024 Fund Program
The Institute of Science and Technology Area (LKST) IPB Univers ity held a Seminar on the Results of the Parening Fund Program (PDP) 2024. This activity gives an opportunity to innovators to present innovation results to reviewers at IPB International Convention Centre, Bogor (9/12).
Tatang Muttaqin, SSos, MEd, PhD as Acting Director General of Vocational Education said, Indonesia hopes that vocational education can accelerate the improvement of community welfare. In addition to also contributing significantly to the growth of the national economy through the role of vocational human resources (HR) in various businesses.
“The Padanan Program has succeeded in creating excellent collaboration between universities, governments, and industries. Through this program, we have witnessed various innovations from various new products to technological solutions for community problems,” he said.
He also added, IPB University in 2024 received a fairly significant equivalent fund, which was 24 billion for 37 innovators, five of which came from vocational education programs. “This is very encouraging and should be appreciated because of the high spirit of innovation from the IPB University academic community,” he said.
Acting Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti), Prof Tjitjik Sri Tjahjandarie said, this equivalent fund is one of the forms of commitment and appreciation of the Directorate General of Higher Education for IPB University innovations.
“We hope IPB University becomes a role model for a university that has a Science Techno Park (STP). This is one of the models in an effort to synergise various innovations produced by universities, so that the innovation does not run on its own but runs in the concept of excellence built at IPB University,” he said.
Prof Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University on that occasion assessed, the Patanan Fund Program is a very important program to bridge industry and universities.
Because, he continued, there are still many research results from universities that have not been maximally utilised by the industrial world. Prof Arif said, the existence of STP IPB University is a solution to accelerate the acceleration of innovation.
Prof Ujang Sumarwan, Chairman of the Academic Senate of IPB University also welcomed the organisation of this activity. “Our job as innovators is how to generate new innovators. We as lecturers must also have an entrepreneurial spirit because it is very important for future regeneration,” he said.
Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet, Vice Rector of IPB University in the field of Resource Resilience and Infrastructure said, in addition to superior innovation, another important aspect that needs to be achieved is superior human resources.
“I hope, IPB University graduates are superior human resources with high integrity, strong character, critical thinking, and have an entrepreneurial spirit so that they can produce works and benefit widely,” he said.
Meanwhile, Prof Erika B Laconi, Chief of LKST IPB University explained, this year IPB University received an equivalent fund of 53 billion: 28 billion from industrial partners and 24 billion from the Directorate General of Education.
IPB University also received funding for Promoting Research and Innovation Through Modern And Efficient and Technology Parks Project (PRIMESTeP)–Asian Development Bank (ADB) for 10 innovations of 9 startups of 7,7 billion.
Not only that, IPB University also obtained 4,8 billion in funding through the Innovative Research-Productive Program (RISPRO) Cassava Invitation from the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) of the Ministry of Finance.
“For this year 2024, all faculties and schools to the centre have participated in these programs. We have also reported that we have reached 1.085 patents and 372 of them are granted patents,” she said. (US/RZ) (IAAS/IAN)
