Guest Lecturer from the University of British Columbia Lectures at the Doctoral Program of PSL IPB University
The Doctoral Program of Natural Resources and Environmental Management (PSL) of the Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University received the presence of guest lecturer Dr Colin Rankin from the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada at the Baranangsiang Campus, IPB University (16/11). This activity was attended by Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat (Dean of SPs), Dr Meti Ekayani (PSL lecturer) and attended by PSL Doctoral Program students.
On this occasion, Dr Colin Rankin shared his knowledge, insights, and experiences with students. He explained about inventory processing, analysis, and visualization of data based on spatial information systems, especially in natural resource management, forestry, forest fires.
Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat in his speech said that this activity was part of the course on Management Policy and Institutionalization of Natural Resources and Sustainable Environment.
“We hope that the presence of this guest lecturer can provide material enrichment and comparison of policies between countries, mechanisms and problems of regulatory gaps, as well as policies and implementation for developed and developing countries. This will certainly be useful for students of the PSL Doctoral Program,” said Prof Dodik, Dean of SPs as well as lecturer in charge of the course.
Meanwhile, Prof Widiatmaka, Coordinator of the PSL Doctoral Program SPs IPB University expressed his gratitude for the presence of guest lecturers from the University of British Columbia this time. In addition to adding insight and knowledge to students, the PSL Doctoral Program also feels benefited and highly supported in international collaboration.
“We want university collaboration to continue to be developed, both through research and other academic activities,” he added in a separate statement.
Prof Widiatmaka added, currently the PSL Doctoral Study Program opens registration for new students in the even semester 2024/2025 starting October 25-December 30, 2024. Registration information can be accessed through the https://admisi.ipb.ac.id page.
