Officially Inaugurated, Here are 5 Targets of the Board of Supervisors and Management of ARM-HA IPB University for the 2024-2029 Term of Service
The Board of Trustees and Management of Yayasan Aksi Relawan Mandiri (ARM) Himpunan Alumni (HA) IPB University for the period of 2024-2029 were officially inaugurated by the Board of Trustees of the Foundation at the IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Baranangsiang, Bogor, Saturday (9/11).
The inauguration was witnessed by Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet (Vice Rector for Resource Resilience and Infrastructure), Prof Ernan Rustiadi (Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Agromaritime Development), and Prof Iskandar Z Siregar (Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration, and Alumni Relation).
In his speech, Chairman of DPP HA-IPB as well as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ARM HA-IPB, Dr Walneg S Jas, in his speech reminded five achievements that ARM HA-IPB needs to achieve in the next five years. First, expanding the branch to at least 15 disaster-prone areas. Second, producing thousands of new volunteers as the backbone of ARM’s work.
“Third, increasing the quantity and quality of cooperation with various parties. Fourth, increasing financial independence, especially in operational costs. And fifth, thinking about scientific backup for the campus, both in the form of writing scientific journals and including disaster topics in the campus curriculum,” he explained.
This inauguration is a long-term baton of ARM HA-IPB leadership to continue serving in the field of humanity in various regions in Indonesia. The ARM HA-IPB board of 2024-2029 is led by Ir Ahmad Husein, MSi and Ir Agus Rusli, MM as Chairman and Secretary General.
The management this time has 70 administrators covering six fields, namely Disaster Management, Volunteer Management, Community Empowerment, Organization and Secretariat, Fundraising and Cooperation, and Communication. The HA-IPB ARM management has a quite varied background with an age range from the most senior (Batch 22/1985) to the youngest (Batch 56/2018).
In the same ceremony, the Board of Supervisors of ARM HA-IPB was also inaugurated for the period of 2024-2029. As Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Dr Pungkas Ali Bahjuri who daily serves as Expert Staff for Social Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, Secretary of the Board of Supervisors Dr Helda Khusun (researcher, academician), Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, Dr Naufal Mahfudz, MM, and drh Gunadi Setiadarma (professional, Chairman of the Alumni Family Association/IKA School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences IPB).
“IPB University is very proud and grateful for the existence of ARM HA-IPB autonomous body. On behalf of IPB University, I highly appreciate the activities that ARM does,” said Prof Ernan. Organizing alumni activities through disaster and humanitarian agencies, he continued, was the right choice because IPB University felt greatly helped by the existence of ARM HA-IPB.
According to Prof Ernan, many academicians and alumni of IPB University care and want to take part in helping those who need help when a disaster occurs. With the work of ARM HA-IPB, the alma mater of IPB University feels represented.
“For IPB University, ARM HA-IPB is the frontline that is needed during disasters and as a forum for distributing aid. I believe ARM HA-IPB remains and continues to maintain the good name and integrity of IPB University,” said Ernan.
He reminded about the importance of realizing a resilient Indonesian society, namely a society that mitigates including in terms of disaster and health. ARM HA-IPB, he said, can contribute to encourage the realization of this.
Interestingly, the entire ARM HA-IPB Management for the 2024-2029 service period is committed to signing the Management Integrity Pact. This effort is to ensure that their activities always adhere to the code of ethics and applicable regulations, especially in the humanitarian field.
After the inauguration, a handover ceremony was held from the HA-IPB Central Leadership Council, which donated IDR 40 million to ARM HA-IPB to help humanitarian activities in the future. In addition, an award was also given to PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III, which donated Rp35 million to ARM HA-IPB program.
ARM HA-IPB also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three parties, respectively the Menwa Alumni Association (IAM) IPB University and the media Pangan News and Radar Suara.
