Famous Investor Lo Kheng Hong Shares the Secret of Successful Investment to IPB Students
Various activities continue to be carried out to improve financial literacy, including among the academic community of IPB University. Recently, the Center of Management together with the IPB Finance Club and the Investment Gallery of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB University collaborated to organize a Financial Literacy Seminar, presenting a well-known investor in the country, Lo Kheng Hong.
The event held on Saturday (16/11) was attended by hundreds of IPB University student participants. They enthusiastically listened to the secrets of success of the figure who has more than 35 years in the world of the Indonesian capital market.
In his presentation hosted by Ali Mutasowifin, Chairman of the Investment Gallery FEM IPB University, the 65-year-old investor emphasized the importance of choosing the right stocks in stock investment.
“We have to be able to find Mercy stocks, but at Bajaj prices,” said the investor, who is said to have a wealth of Rp2 trillion. For this reason, he emphasized, every investor must understand how to read financial reports properly.
After the event ended, Lo Kheng Hong and Ignatius Denny, other speakers from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), had the opportunity to visit the Investment Gallery of FEM IPB University and discuss with its managers.
As is known, there are still many people in Indonesia who are not familiar with the capital market. Although the index of public financial literacy and inclusion continues to show improvement, there are inequalities when viewed by sector.
From the results of the 2024 National Survey on Financial Literacy and Inclusion, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) noted that financial literacy and inclusion in the banking sector is higher than the capital market and insurance sectors which are still very low. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
