Planning a Prosperous Retirement Period, IPB University Holds Refreshment Training for Employees

The Directorate of Human Resources (SDM) in collaboration with the Leadership and Executive Education Institute (LKPE) of IPB University, held a Full-Day Refreshment Training for Employees in 2024. The event was themed “Sailing into The Golden Age: Designing a Prosperous Retirement” and took place at IPB International Convention Centre (IICC), Bogor (11/13).

Dr Heti Mulyati, HR Director of IPB University in his speech said that this activity is carried out to refresh employees who have entered the post-time period and who will be retired in the next five years.

“Considering that our labour period is over 20 years, it is certain that the engagement is very high. Therefore, this refreshment activity is expected to provide insight to Sir and Madam, how we design retirement both from the mental and financial aspects,” she said.

According to her, retirement does not end someone’s activities, but ends only administratively. “While the work of Sir and Madam will not stop until today,” added Dr Heti.

Former HR Director of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk, Laksmi S Tobing, was present as a speaker. She revealed, retirement is the beginning of everything.

“If you think that retirement is the end of everything, you have to change it because retirement is the beginning of everything. You can become closer to your family if you enter retirement. You can do activities that cannot be done when you are working,” she said.

She emphasised, retirement is something that must be responded to positively. “You must always be optimistic in dealing with everything that may happen if retirement starts to come to you,” she said. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Aly)
