SPs IPB University Receives Visit from Untirta to Discuss Management and Admission of New Students

The Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University received a visit from the Postgraduate Program of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University (Untirta) at SPs Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (8/11). The visit discussed the management and admission of new students in the postgraduate program.

Present in the activity from SPs IPB University, Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat (Dean), Prof Titi Candra Sunarti ( Vice Dean of Resources, Cooperation and Development), and Prof Romli ( Chief of Professional Program). The delegates from Untirta Graduate Program are Prof Aan Asphianto (Director), Prof A Ali Alhamidi ( Vice Director for Academic, Student Affairs, and Cooperation), Kurnia Nugraha, ST, MT (Vice Director for Planning, Finance, and General Affairs) as well as several coordinators and secretaries of study programs (prodi).

Prof Dodik welcomed the presence of Untirta. He explained that currently SPs IPB University is initiating a Double Degree (DD) program. In addition, it also initiated a synergy or fast track program for master’s degree with domestic universities. 

“This program can later be carried out by all study programs at SPs IPB University, currently there are 57 master programs and 43 doctoral programs,” he said.

Prof Dodik added that there are three types of study program management at SPs IPB University: monodisciplinary, oligodisciplinary, and multidisciplinary. Monodisciplinary and oligodisciplinary programs are managed by the faculty, while multidisciplinary programs are managed by SPs IPB University.

“But for the admission of new students and monitoring the evaluation of the study period is carried out by SPs IPB University. So, SPs IPB University coordinates quality assurance in all study programs, both masters and doctoral programs in all faculties,” he added.

Prof Titi Candra Sunarti added that the admission of new students for doctoral, master’s, and professional engineer programs of SPs IPB University was re-opened in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Student admission time has been opened since October 2024.

“Registration of PMB for all faculties through SPs IPB University. However, the selection and determination of students who will be accepted is carried out through a plenary meeting of the leadership of IPB University,” she added.

Meanwhile, Prof Aan Asphianto expressed his gratitude for being accepted by SPs IPB University. The purpose of his visit to SPs IPB University is in the context of management, both financial and resources that have been carried out by SPs IPB University, as well as the management of PMB.

“We hope that this visit can provide our information and knowledge related to postgraduate management and can create an initiation of educational program cooperation with SPs IPB University,” he added. (HBL/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
