Improving Legality and Quality of Products, LKST IPB University, Holds Product Legality Management Workshop
Institute of Science and Technology Area (LKST) IPB University held a Product Legality Management Workshop to improve quality assurance in preparation for international market distribution permits, this activity took place at the IPB International Convention Center, Bogor (8/11).
Innovation Development Assistant of LKST IPB University, Prof Dwi Guntoro said, this activity was attended by 19 grantee teams, consisting of 10 innovators and 9 startups who were required to participate until this activity was completed.
“How these products can be accepted by consumers in the community, of course they must meet the requirements, in this case they already have a permit from BPOM and have a halal product guarantee license,” he said.
“The hope of the innovation research is that innovations will be born that can be commercialized to the public either through licensing or through startups,” he said.

On that occasion, Director of Processed Food Registration of BPOM, Sinta Ramadhani SSi, Apt, MSc said, products that are circulated or marketed to the public must have a distribution permit in accordance with the criteria of the product.
“Innovators or startups are expected to have registered their products before they are marketed. One-door service for product licensing is now easier. Business actors can register through the website https://oss.go.id/,” she said.
Meanwhile, Dr Siti Nur Husnul Yusmiati, Halal Product Fatwa Committee of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag), added, “Halal certification for products that will be marketed is actually not difficult, as long as we really pay attention to the process starting from production materials to product criteria that are appropriate and feasible to be certified halal.”
She continued, “Products that have been produced from research, startup products or mass-produced products must be certified halal. Apart from being mandatory, this can also increase public confidence or consumers of these products and will also support the market process in the future,” she explained.
