To control the spread of parasitic diseases in tropical areas, the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) IPB University together with the Tropical Council for Companion Animal Parasites (TroCCAP) held seminars and workshops.

The activity titled “TroCCAP Seminar and Workshop Indonesia Edition 2024 Veterinary Parasitology Diagnosis” was held at the Transformation Hall and SKHB Parapat Lab, IPB Dramaga Campus. As many as 100 veterinarians participated in this activity.

“This activity is expected to increase the knowledge of veterinarians about parasites in animals. Hopefully this collaboration can also be a joint effort in preventing the spread of parasitic diseases in tropical areas,” hoped Prof Fadjar, Chairman of the Parasitology and Health Entomology Division of SKHB IPB University in his speech.

This seminar and workshop was narrated by Prof drh Upik Kesumawati Hadi, Dr Sangaran Arumugam, and Prof Malaika Watanabe.

Prof Malaika in his material presentation said, “Diseases transmitted by dog fleas in diagnosis and treatment are a challenge in the prevention of this parasitic disease.”

In addition to receiving material instructions, veterinarians also receive practical instructions regarding sampling techniques and parasite treatment in animals. (*/Rz) (IAAS/TIA)
