DPMA IPB University Holds Closing Ceremony of the Agromaritime Socio Academy Drone Mapping School 2024
The Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) at IPB University successfully held the closing ceremony for one of its flagship programs in the Agromaritime Socio Academy 2024, the Drone Mapping School.
This program focused on technical training for utilizing drone mapping technology across various sectors, particularly in agromaritime fields. The event was attended by the Director of Agromaritime Community Development, Dr Handian Purwawangsa, and the Assistant Director of Social Entrepreneurship, Dr Mohammad Iqbal Irfany.
In his remarks, Dr. Handian emphasized the importance of mastering drone mapping technology to support progress in agriculture and maritime sectors. “Drone mapping technology is an innovation that can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of agricultural land management. We hope the participants will apply these skills in the field,” he stated.
Participants of the Drone Mapping School 2024 underwent comprehensive training, covering the basics of drone usage, operational mechanisms, usage limitations, and practical applications in agriculture on IPB University’s campus fields. The training was designed to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience.
Assistant Director of Social Entrepreneurship, Dr Iqbal, also expressed his hopes for the continuation of the program. “We hope that this training not only benefits the participants but also equips those pursuing drone pilot certification. Our goal is for them to achieve the expected skill standards,” he said.
