IPB University Holds Taekwondo Open Tournament IPB Cup 2024 Championship, 669 Taekwondoins Participate in Competition
IPB University collaborated with the Indonesian Taekwondo Branch Management (Pengcab TI) of Bogor Regency to hold the ‘Taekwondo Open Tournament IPB Cup 2024 Championship’. A total of 669 taekwondoins from five provinces in Indonesia participated in the championship with enthusiasm. This championship competed in the All Achievement Pre Cadet, Cadet, Junior, and Senior categories for Kyorugi, and Poomsae.
The participants of this championship consisted of students and students who represented various regions in Java and Sumatra. The opening of the championship was attended by Prof drh Deni Noviana (Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs); M Faturrokman, SPt, MSi (Assistant Director of Character Development, Student Organizations, Sports, and Student Arts).
Also present were Resti Meilani SHut, MSi (Supervisor of Student Activity Unit (UKM) Taekwondo IPB), Arnoldy Salim (Chairman of Pengcab TI Bogor Regency), Dedi Ade Bachtiar (Chairman of Indonesian National Sports Committee/KONI Bogor Regency), and the top management of Pengcab TI Bogor Regency.
The event was officially opened by Prof drh Deni Noviana, Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs. Through pantun, he emphasized the importance of upholding sportsmanship in an effort to achieve victory.
“Wake up early in the morning. Before competing, you have to eat breakfast bread. Sportsmanship continues to remain,without a doubt, victory is attained,” said Prof drh Deni Noviana during his speech while officially opening the event.
Chairman of Pengcab TI Bogor Regency, Arnoldy Salim also advised in his remarks. He said, “By holding this championship we hope to trigger the development of taekwondo sports in the future. I hope this taekwondo championship is also a means of developing a positive, competitive, winning mentality.”
Arnoldy Salim, Chairman of Pengcab Taekwondo Bogor Regency, added that his party has a sustainable coaching and breeding program. He hopes that from this event potential taekwondo athletes will be born who can become the mainstay of the Indonesian Taekwondo National Team in the future.
“I am sure from the 669 participants, there will be potential athletes from various regions, including Bogor Regency, who will join the Indonesian Taekwondo National Team,” concluded Arnoldy. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Aly)
