Fapet IPB University and PT Sinergi Ketahanan Pangan Establish Strategic Cooperation for the Development of Agricultural Education and Technology
Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) IPB University signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with PT Sinergi Ketahanan Pangan on cooperation in education, research, and community service at Fapet Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor on 25/9.
The cooperation carried out is further regulated in a cooperation agreement (PKS) which was also signed between Fapet IPB University and PT Chickin Sahabat Peternak which is a subsidiary of PT Sinergi Ketahanan Pangan. The PKS is related to the management of the internet of things (IoT) and the tridarma of higher education.
On this occasion, there was also a handover of goods grants in the form of a series of IoT equipment units by PT Chickin Sahabat Peternak. The name of the donated machine is Ci-Touch Controller which is an IoT-based tool to control close-housed cages.
It has a touch screen, WiFi, three temperature sensors, and one RH sensor and one ammonia sensor each. The installation of IoT in the farm environment will be utilised for academic purposes, research, agricultural technology development and the implementation of the tridarma of higher education.
Dr Idat Galih Permana, Dean of Fapet IPB University appreciated the good cooperation with PT Chickin Sahabat Peternak.
“Livestock products are one of the priorities in providing food. Hopefully, this grant can be a strengthening for us, especially the application of IoT technology. It’s time we apply the technology that is needed and has a significant impact,” he said.
Director of PT Chickin Sahabat Peternak, Muhammad Salahudin Rasjidi, said that his company currently has 1,000 partners with a population of 21 million livestock spread across Central and West Java. “We adjust our workforce to the needs of the market, and for internal companies, we focus on developing young talents,” he said.
Aji Nugrahanto, Lead Business Development of PT Chickin Sahabat Peternak added that his company has a mission to modernise the livestock industry in Indonesia and help with IoT so that farmers can upgrade.
“We hope that the technology we develop can prepare future generations to enter the workforce with adequate technological knowledge, as well as increase their interest in animal husbandry,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chickin Indonesia’s Human Capital Manager, Fajar Slamet Kurniadi, also conveyed several things related to academics and student affairs. “For collaboration, I want to create an integrated learning centre, as well as establish a training centre that is more useful for the community and can encourage students to better understand conditions in the field,” he explained.
Fajar also hopes that Chickin Indonesia can contribute more to the world of education, create a digital curriculum and share experiences that are not limited to the scope of the course. (Femmy/Lp) (IAAS/RSL)
