Increasing Recording and Marketing Capacity, Bima IPB University Team Holds Business Management Training in Cibanteng Village
The Research Information Base Team and Community Service (Bima) of IPB University with the Village Empowerment Scheme (PDB) organises Business Management Training activities that aim to increase the capacity of village community recording and marketing management.
The training activity is located in Cibanteng Village, Ciampea District, Bogor, West Java. The training was attended by a number of participants from members of the Kebon Kopi Mandiri Farmers Group and the people of Cibanteng Village. This event is hosted by Tursina Andita Putri, a team of BIMA Community Service Lecturers from the Agribusiness Department of IPB University.
In the training session, participants are equipped with practical skills, such as business financial recording techniques or farm recording. Tursina revealed, most small business people still rely on memory and feelings in managing finances. “Therefore, we emphasise the importance of proper recording so that they can know whether their business is profitable or losing,” she explained.
“This training is expected to increase the community’s business capacity, both in terms of financial management and product marketing. With new knowledge and skills, it is hoped that the residents of Cibanteng Village can develop the maggot farming business and its derivative products into a more sustainable and profitable business,” said Tursina.
Not only that, this training also introduces various effective marketing strategies, including how to increase the selling value of maggot products through product downstreamisation. Maggot products can be processed into various derivative products, such as animal and fish feed, organic fertilisers, and maggot oil that can be sold at a higher price.
The participants are also invited to practise simple recording in their business. At the end of the session, they participated in discussions and questions and answers to deepen their understanding of good business management. (*/Lt) (IAAS/TIA)
