The Graduate School (SPs) of IPB University received a visit from the Graduate School of Tadulako University (Untad) at the SPs building, Dramaga Campus, Bogor. The visit discussed collaboration in organizing master’s and doctoral programs as well as managing the quality assurance system (SPM) at SPs IPB University.

Present at the meeting from SPs IPB University were Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat (Dean), Prof Yusli Wardiatno (Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni), and Prof Titi Candra Sunarti (Vice Dean of Resources, Cooperation, and Development). From Untad, the delegation was represented by Dr Rostiati dg Rahmatu (Chairman of the Master of Agricultural Science Program), Dr Nur Edy (Manager of the Mitra Sains Journal), Dr Muliati (Chief of the Quality Assurance Center), and Prof Novalina Serdiati (SPM Development Team).

Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat warmly welcomed the team from Tadulako University Graduate School. He mentioned that SPs IPB University is currently initiating collaborations with graduate schools from other universities, including the “Sinergi” program or a fast track for master’s degrees, as well as a Double Degree program with domestic universities.

“Students can take postgraduate micro-credentials, which will later be counted as credits for certain courses. Upon graduation, they will be given a certificate, and if they wish to continue their studies at IPB University, these courses can be recognized through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program,” he explained.

Prof Dodik added that the management of study programs at SPs IPB University is divided into three types: monodisciplinary, oligodisciplinary, and multidisciplinary. Monodisciplinary and oligodisciplinary programs are managed by the faculties, while multidisciplinary programs are managed by SPs IPB University.

“However, the admission of new students and monitoring of study periods are handled by SPs IPB University. Therefore, SPs IPB University coordinates the quality assurance across all study programs, both master’s and doctoral, in all faculties,” he added.

Regarding quality assurance, Prof Titi Candra Sunarti explained that IPB University currently has a Quality Management Office and an Internal Audit Office, which continuously audits the study programs at SPs IPB University every year through the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI).

“With this SPMI, we can improve our internal quality, so we have records when a study program applies for accreditation to achieve or maintain superior accreditation,” she explained.

Meanwhile, Dr Rostiati dg Rahmatu explained the purpose of their visit to SPs IPB University. In addition to seeking educational collaboration, she also wanted to learn about the understanding and strategies for managing SPM at SPs IPB University, as well as to establish collaboration in managing journals at IPB University.

“Currently, the Tadulako University Graduate School has six master’s programs and five doctoral programs. With this visit to SPs IPB University, which has superior-accredited study programs, we hope to gain knowledge and experience to prepare accreditation documents for our programs to achieve superior accreditation,” she added.
