Faculty of Animal Science of IPB University Again Holds Workshop on Forage Production and Processing
For another chance, the Faculty of Animal Science (Fapet) of IPB University held the third Workshop on Forage Production and Processing at Meeting Room Himalaya 5 Hotel Swiss Bell, Bogor. This activity presented the teaching staff of the Division of Feed and Pasture Plant Science and Technology of the Department of Nutrition Science and Feed Technology of IPB University, such as Prof Panca Dewi, Prof Luki Abdullah, Dr Iwan Prihantoro, Dr Asep Tata Permana, and Dr Nur Rochmah Kumalasari.
This workshop is a continuation of the second workshop on Forage Production and Processing in the framework of finalising the Indonesian National Work Competency Standard (SKKNI) document in the field of animal feed.
This third workshop focuses on document development in the second workshop session. The previous discussion agreed on related to the positions in the draft SKKNI for Animal Feed Management, namely Animal Feed Forage Farm Manager, Animal Feed Forage Supervisor, Animal Feed Production and Harvest Operator, as well as Post-harvene Operator and Animal Feed Forage Processing.
A number of competency units that have been formulated and will be developed in the previous workshop are discussed again. Several elements of competence, performance criteria, variable limits, and assessment guidelines are also formulated. The focus group discussed things that must be mastered by managers, supervisors, production and harvesting operators, as well as post-harvest operators and animal feed forage processing.
The SKKNI draft that has been prepared will then be sent to the Certification and Standardisation of the Agricultural Human Resources Extension and Development Agency (BPPSDMP) Training Center for getting a revision.
“The hope is that SKKNI can be finalised soon and can be used for certification,” explained Prof Luki Abdullah as well as closing the workshop activities that were held for the two days. (Welas/Rz) (IAAS/TIA)
