Supporting Social Entrepreneurship, IPB University Hosts TGSC Kick Off 2024
In order to support the social entrepreneurship program, IPB University hosted the kick off of The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge (TGSC) 2024 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) IPB University (28/8).
This activity is a social entrepreneurship competition and incubation initiated by PT Pegadaian to encourage youth to become socio-preneurs who create sustainable social impact. This program supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with each innovative idea proposed must contribute to one of the 17 SDGs goals, in order to support Indonesia to achieve the 2030 SDGs target.
Dean of FEM IPB University, Dr Irfan Syauqi Beik thanked PT Pegadaian for choosing the IPB University campus as the starting point for TGSC 2024 activities. He hopes that IPB University students can actively participate in TGSC because this activity is in line with IPB University’s vision in the field of techno-sociopreneurship based on innovation and product development.
“Hopefully IPB University students can take an important role and this activity provides broad benefits and produces entrepreneurs who contribute to the progress of the nation, especially in utilizing the demographic bonus,” he said.
Director of Network, Operations, and Sales of PT Pegadaian, Eka Pebriansyah said that this activity aims to oversee and assist capital in the context of social entrepreneurship incubation. Through TGSC, Pegadaian provides a platform to develop social entrepreneurship ideas.
“I hope this activity will become a means for students to learn, develop, and have a real positive impact. Hopefully this activity will provide broad benefits, especially in forming young entrepreneurs who are ready to contribute to society,” he said.
Dr Hendri Tanjung, Chief of the Islamic Economic Competitiveness Improvement Division of the Indonesian Association of Islamic Economists (IAEI), said that maintaining a balance between economic development and environmental preservation is key to ensuring sustainability for future generations.
According to him, technological innovation also plays an important role in supporting environmental sustainability and creating solutions that have a positive impact on society.
“I hope the younger generation can play an active role in creating change, both through social entrepreneurship and technological innovation, and maintain environmental balance for a better future,” he said.
This activity was also filled by several speakers, namely, Chairperson of the IAEI Social Entrepreneurship and Community Empowerment Development Division, Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid; Assistant Vice President of PT Pegadaian, Mery Andriati Surya; FEM IPB University lecturer, Dr Eisha Maghfiruha Rachbini; IAEI Management, Cut Erika Ananda Fatimah, MBA and brought the winner of TGSC 2023.
