IPB University has again launched the 2024 Independent Entrepreneurship Program (WMK) with the theme ‘Creating Innopreneur: Foresting Solution Driving Techno-sociopreneurship Innovation’. This program is one of the flagship programs of the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (WMK) initiated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).

The WMK program is designed to equip students with integrated entrepreneurial skills through the application of the Bloom taxonomy concept, which includes aspects of remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating, and creating.

The targets of the WMK program include improving students’ abilities in understanding, planning, implementing, analyzing, evaluating, and creating innovation-based businesses that can provide direct benefits to the community.

This program will be implemented through practical learning involving direct interaction between students and business owners, management of small and medium enterprises/business world industry (UKM/DUDI) partners, practitioners, and lecturers who are experts in the field of entrepreneurship.

“This program not only focuses on developing business ideas, but also on strengthening sustainable business networks,” said Rici Tri Harpin Pranata, SKPm, MSi, Assistant Director of Career Development and Entrepreneurship at IPB University.

The Chief Executive of WMK IPB University added, “Students will be encouraged to create product or service prototypes that are then tested in the market, so that they can learn directly from real experience.”

This program will start on September 23, 2024, with several main stages, namely pre-immersion, immersion, and post-immersion. In the pre-immersion stage, participants will focus on exploring and developing business ideas with the support of mentors and lecturers.

The immersion stage, which lasts for six weeks, allows participants to accelerate the development of their business ideas through direct guidance from partner UKMs, including international partners.

“Our biggest innovation this year is the implementation of Proto-Up and Proto-Test in the immersion stage, as well as support for business legality through HAKI and licensing workshops. We also hold a Student Entrepreneur Expo that will invite investors to collaborate with student businesses,” explained Rici.

The post-immersion stage will be filled with legality workshops and the 2024 Student Entrepreneur Expo. In this expo, participants will showcase their products and businesses and have the opportunity to attract investors.

This program is open to multi-strata students from all universities in Indonesia (state and private), with a quota of 360 participants. The benefits of participating in this program include the equivalency of 20 semester credit systems (SKS) and the opportunity to participate in further coaching.

“We hope that this program can create a generation of innopreneurs who are able to bring innovative solutions in various sectors,” concluded Rici.

With this WMK program, IPB University continues to be committed to encouraging the spirit of entrepreneurship among students through structured programs based on real experiences in the field. (Arya/Rz) (IAAS/ASD)
