As an effort to increase agricultural productivity and community independence, IPB University’s Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) Innovation students provided 145 tree seedlings to a women farmer group (KWT) in RW001 Balumbang Jaya Village, West Bogor District, Bogor City, West Java.

Juliana Sitompul, one of the KKNT Inovasi team representatives, distributed tree seedlings consisting of 25 ketapang kencana tree seedlings, 25 red shoot tree seedlings, 25 mahogany tree seedlings, 16 guava tree seedlings, 17 avocado tree seedlings, 17 soursop tree seedlings, and 20 chilli tree seedlings.

“We obtained all the seedlings from a modern nursery centre in Rumpin, Bogor, which is known for its advanced agricultural technology and practices. By providing these quality seeds, we hope to improve the quality and quantity of crops in Balumbang Jaya Village,” he said.

The delivery of the seeds was enthusiastically received by the Chief of RW001, Doni, and attended by the farmer women’s group and local residents. After the handover, the seeds were immediately planted on the KWT land.

“We are grateful to KKNT Inovasi students for helping in the effort to strengthen KWT through the provision of tree seedlings. This assistance is a concrete step that will not only increase agricultural productivity in the village, but also solve the problem of vacant land,” said Doni.

Juliana added that with the planting of these useful tree seedlings, it is expected that Balumbang Jaya Village will experience a significant improvement in environmental quality. According to her, this initiative also not only enhances the visual beauty of the village, but also provides long-term benefits in improving the comfort of people’s lives.

“With the planting of these trees, hopefully a greener and more attractive landscape will be created, which will beautify the neighbourhood and provide a fresher and calmer feel,” he concluded. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
