IPB University Quality Family School Invites PKK Situgede Mothers to Demonstrate Cooking Nutritious Food
IPB University’s Quality Family School (SKB) is again collaborating with the Innovation-Real Thematic Work Lecture (KKN-T Innovation) team to implement a supplementary feeding (PMT) program for children under five (11/7) Cempaka RW 09 Posyandu, Situgede Village, Bogor Regency, West Java.
This activity is the seventh and final SKB learning activity carried out in Situgede Village. The event is a demonstration of cooking nutritious food for children.
“Ladies, this SKB is an effort to improve the abilities or skills of mothers in managing the household. Because these mothers have a very ‘wow’ task. “Hopefully with the SKB, mothers can apply their knowledge to their respective families,” said Ika Susilawati, Chief of Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) Situgede Village in her speech.
Before graduation, the activities will be continued by IPB University KKN-T Innovation students the following week. Students will also carry out a cooking demonstration concept called the Healthy Protein Movement (GPS).
“So, today we will practice making complementary foods for breast milk (MPASI), namely chicken soup, omelettes and moringa leaves, ladies. MPASI that is healthy and meets nutritional standards does not have to be expensive, but can come from the environment around us.
With a small cost, we can make healthy MPASI and create a quality generation. “Well, later this SKB activity will be continued with programs from students,” said Mardiah, one of the PKK cadres.
The cooking demonstration was carried out by PKK cadres from Situgede Village. Cadre representatives, Ida and Ika, practice preparing nutritious food from simple ingredients. The menu served is omelet, Moringa leaf chicken soup and fried tempeh. The processed omelet is the main point because one of the ingredients comes from Moringa leaves. Moringa leaves contain vitamin A, vitamin C, iron and calcium, so they are good for health.
After the cooking demonstration was finished, KKN-T Innovation IPB University students helped distribute food to the mothers. The mothers participating in the SKB were very enthusiastic and brought containers from their respective homes. The activity ended with a meal together. (*/Rz) (IAAS/ASD)
