Realizing Healthy Village, PPK Ormawa Himagizi IPB University Team Launches Nutrition House Program

The Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program Team or Tim Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa) of the Nutrition Science Student Association or Himpunan Mahasiswa Ilmu Gizi (Himagizi) has carried out the first socialization in Sukaharja Village, Ciomas District, Bogor Regency on 23/6. This activity took place in the Sukaharja Village Office Hall as the first step of the Himagizi PPK Ormawa team in realizing a comfortable, clean and healthy village environment.

This socialization activity aims as an introduction to the people of Sukaharja Village about
Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa) Himagizi IPB University with the title “Optimizing Public Health in Sukaharja Village Through the Nutrition House Program as a Pillar of Accelerating the Creation of Healthy Villages”.

Muhammad Aries, SP, MSi, as the Student Affairs Commission at the Department of Nutrition Science of IPB University explained that the implementation of this Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa) focuses on health and environmental sanitation issues with the hope of optimizing public health in Sukaharja Village.

He explained that the nutrition house program consisted of several sub-programs including training posyandu cadres as a form of stunting prevention, the formation of a Healthy Awareness community, nutrition consultation on non-communicable diseases (NCDs), the use of tilapia fish farming as a product development innovation, and the formation of a Sustainable Food Yard and Healthy Herbal Pharmacy or Pekarangan Pangan Lestari dan Apotek Herbal Sehat (Peri Hebat).

“The Rumah Gizi program has a scope of village community empowerment activities, namely health education, environmental quality improvement, and hunger reduction targeting health cadres as community activists,” said Aries.

“It is hoped that Sukaharja Village can become a comfortable, clean, and healthy village so that its people can avoid disease problems such as Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and reduce the prevalence of stunting,” said Almira Qatrunnada as the Chief Executive of the Himagizi Ormawa PPK Team.

Yani, a posyandu cadre, said that this activity helped improve the community’s understanding of nutritional problems in Sukaharja Village. “We hope that the community can work together with the PPK Ormawa Himagizi IPB University team to realize Sukaharja Village as a healthy village,” she said.
