Affirming the “IPB Presents” Program, 3,204 Students Participate in KKNT Innovation 2024

In realizing service to various regions, as many as 3,204 IPB University students participated in the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) 2024. KKNT Innovation activities will take place from June 24 to August 5, 2024.

This year, the implementation of Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) is carried out in 394 villages, 44 districts and 10 provinces, namely North Sumatra Province, Jambi, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta Special Region, East Java, Bali, and Maluku.

Vice Rector of IPB University for Research, Innovation and Agromaritime Development, Prof Ernan Rustiadi said, Thematic Field Study and Community Service (KKNT) Innovation is a program that aims to assist the community to strengthen the “IPB Presents” program through community service.

In its implementation, this program involves students and lecturers for 40 days to live with the community, with a focus on applying IPB University innovations to support rural socio-economic resilience.

“In addition to the implementation in remote areas of the country, we also place students of the International Program of the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science (SKHB) who participate in Thematic Field Study and Community Service (KKNT) Innovation in Malaysia as many as 2 groups; 3 groups of students of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) follow the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) program in Malaysia; and 5 groups of FEM students follow Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) in Thailand,” he said in his speech at the release of Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) students at the Rectorate Field, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (22/6).

Furthermore, Prof Ernan mentioned that there were 230 lecturers involved, consisting of 183 Field Supervisors (DPL) and 47 Regional Coordinator Lecturers.

“It is hoped that this activity will provide benefits to all stakeholders, including students, communities, and local governments, through collaboration in various fields of expertise to overcome problems at the location of the activity,” he said.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs of IPB University, Prof Deni Noviana advised, “As representatives of IPB University, you must carry the values of IPB University. A great university is supported by outstanding students, good attitude, and good leadership skills.”

Furthermore, Prof Deni explained that the main mission of IPB University in Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) is to train the 5C concept in students.

“The concept is Creativity to find local solutions, Critical Thinking for critical thinking, Collaboration for multi-stakeholder cooperation, Communication for effective communication techniques, and Complex Problem Solving to solve problems quickly,” he said. (dr/Rz) (IAAS/SNI)
