TNC IPB University Initiates Cooperation with Taiwan

Tani and Nelayan Center (TNC) IPB University initiated a collaboration with PT Groving Taiwan and PT Asha Fortuna Corpora (AFC) at the Rector Discussion Room, Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building, IPB University, and continued with a site survey in Sukaharja Village, Cijeruk District, Bogor Regency.

Head of TNC IPB University, Prof Hermanu Tri Widodo, thanked Asman and William Sutioso from PT Asha Fortuna Corpora for facilitating the collaboration with PT Grooving, Taiwan. The collaboration between TNC IPB University and Taiwan is expected to benefit the community.

In an effort to advance agricultural practices in Indonesia, Prof Hermanu emphasized the importance of high energy and collaboration with the younger generation to improve the agricultural landscape. “We are excited to work with the youth to support and improve agriculture in Indonesia,” he said.

The initiation of this collaboration was also attended by Dr Roza Yusfiandayani (Vice Chairman of TNC), Prof Edi Santosa (Chairman of the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture), and Idung Risdiyanto SSi, MSc (lecturer at the Department of Geophysics and Meteorology).

PT Asha Fortuna Corpora, represented by William Sutioso said, “By synergizing, we will have many opportunities and with a good strategy we can work well together in the future,” said William Sutioso.

PT Grooving, represented by Dr Eric Lan Kuan-Hu, is committed to addressing agricultural issues such as plant diseases, pesticide pollution, and agricultural waste management. “Our goal is to develop a two-year cooperation to improve the sustainability and quality of agricultural products in Indonesia,” said Dr Eric.

“In the latest trial, we (PT Grooving) have successfully used the Bio Ceramic innovation on onions with three types of water. Onions whose growing medium was water containing bio ceramic, in 10 days showed faster growth results than the others,” he said.

In addition, he continued, bio ceramic innovation has also been developed in cabbage plants. Planting media that is given bio ceramic can grow 5 times larger than the usual cabbage within three days. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Ard)
