Art Performance and Social Contribution enliven the 4th Independent Student Exchange Program at IPB University

IPB University through the 4th Independent Student Exchange program held an art performance and social contribution at Grha Widya Wisuda Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, 2/6. This social contribution is one of the series implemented and is part of the Nusantara Module material.

Coordinator of Independent Student Exchange 4 who was also the Director of Education Administration Service of IPB University, Dr Utami Dyah Syafitri said that the Independent Student Exchange event was enlivened with social contributions and performances by students.

“This year, a new concept is introduced, namely social contribution with the aim of uniting all activities in the same time and place. The social contribution program was held in the campus area of IPB Dramaga and involved seven groups with different themes,” she said.

Dr Utami continued, the Independent Student Exchange program is part of the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM)  program. The program provides opportunities for students from outside Java to study at IPB University for one semester.

This activity also includes an art performance held before the Final Semester Examination. This art performance was organized with the aim of developing creativity and establishing togetherness.

“There are percussion performances, musical dramas, and traditional dance performances from various regions. This activity is to unite IPB University students with Independent Student Exchange students, as well as add to the creative skills of  Independent Student Exchange students,” she said.

Dr Utami expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Independent Student Exchange students.  “Congratulations on your hard work during this semester. Hopefully your academic and non-academic experiences while studying at IPB University will bring good memories. Thank you for your dedication so far,” she concluded.

One of the Independent Student Exchange participants from Padang State University, Arifatul Rahmat said this activity was very interesting and uplifting. “During the social contribution activities, we met orphanage children, shared, played games, and got to know each other. The art performance was also very interesting because it featured dances from various regions in the archipelago,” he said.

In the social contribution activity, IPB University Business School Student Executive Board (BEM SB), Mizan Amanah Orphanage, Mandiri Orphan Dormitory, Istiqomah Social Welfare Foundation, Darusholihat Women and Toddlers Orphanage, Nusa Educator Pioneer Foundation, and Dharma Wanita Special School (SLB) Bogor City.
