Largest in Southeast Asia, RSHP IPB University Opens Pet Daycare Facility on Hari Raya
The Teaching Animal Hospital (RSHP) owned by the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) of IPB University opens a healthy pet care facility during the holidays. The facility is the largest in Southeast Asia.
“This RSHP has a large facility with a lot of cage capacity. In addition, this facility is equipped with a playground for pets. That is the advantage of our RSHP compared to animal clinics in general,” said Prof Gunanti, Director of RSHP IPB University at IPB Dramaga Campus, on 4/3.
Prof Gunarti added, because it has a large facility, animals kept at RSHP can walk in the park every morning and evening accompanied by paramedics so that pets are not stressed, so it is expected that their appetite is good. In addition, there are many types of animals that can be deposited including dogs, cats, rabbits, turtles, iguanas, horses, cows, sheep, goats and pigs.
Regarding the provisions in leaving pets, Drh Leni Maylina, Assistant Director for Information and Development of RSHP IPB University said that animals must be in good health, have vaccinated at least the first vaccine.
“Animals must be given flea and worm medicine before entering hospitalisation for at least the last one month. Animals must also be willing to be treated if found sick during examination and during boarding,” said Drh Leni.
She continued, the facilities provided include each animal’s cage, separate eating and drinking places, dry and wet feed or allowed to bring their own feed and under veterinary supervision.
“The cage capacity for cats can reach 100 cages, dogs 50 cages, horses 10 cages and cows 6 cages. There are also cages for turtles and iguanas.
She added that if you leave a healthy pet during Eid for more than two weeks, you will get free grooming for dogs and cats. “Usually, customers or people who leave their pets come from the Jabodetabek area and some are from Bandung,” said Drh Leni.
Harianto, one of those who left his pet dog, said that he was satisfied with the service at RSHP IPB University. “My dog has been sick since Monday and was referred from the clinic to RSHP, after one day of treatment, the dog looks healthy and after three days it can go home,” said Harianto.
