Improving the Performance of Research and Community Service, IPB Holds Talkshow with Lecturers and Researchers
The Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI) of IPB University held a talkshow entitled “Strategies for Improving the Performance of Research and Community Service”. This talk show was held offline at Andi Hakim Nasoetion Auditorium, Darmaga Campus of IPB, Bogor, (25/3).
Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria in his speech encouraged research and innovation for economic and social interests that have an impact on society. To achieve that, Prof Arif Satria said researchers could have a communication with all stakeholders ranging from farmers, fishermen, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), industry and government.
“Hopefully today’s talk show can be inspiring and improve quality research results,” hoped Prof Arif Satria in his virtual speech.
Vice Rector for research,Innovation and Agromaritime Development, Prof Ernan Rustiadi conveyed that the performance of IPB University’s research and community service has been quite good so far. In the last three years, IPB University received the third highest Science and Technology Index (Sinta) score from several well-known state universities.
Prof Ernan Rustiadi said, IPB University lecturers are among the most productive in conducting research and publishing it in national or international journals.
In 2023, IPB University became the university with the most lecturers who have qualified for the research proposal of the Research and Community Service Information Base (BIMA) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikburistek) of the Republic of Indonesia.
“IPB University’s publications continue to rise. Not only the number has been increased, but the proportion of Q1 and Q2 has also increased. This means that the quality has also increased,” said Prof Ernan Rustiadi in his presentation.
Thanks to this achievement, IPB University has received various awards in the field of research and innovation, including several awards in the 2023 Research, Technology and Community Service Award and the 2023 National Priority Award.
Director of Research, Technology and Community Service at the Ministry of Research and Technology, Prof M Faiz Syuaib revealed the importance of research in higher education. According to him, research is fundamental in higher education.
“Research is to produce knowledge, and knowledge enriches the curriculum. So if the research stops, the university will be finished,” said Prof M Faiz Syuaib.
Assistant Director of Research Strategy and Development, Directorate of Research and Innovation of IPB University, Dr Karlisa Priandana said, the talk show was held to facilitate the improvement of research and community service activities at IPB University. The talkshow discussed strategies that were carried out at the university and national levels.
“So that researchers at IPB University know what the conditions are like, what the policy is, and how to improve the performance of research and community service at IPB University,” said Dr Karlisa Priandana.
Dr Karlisa Priandana hoped that the talk show could improve the research and community service activities of IPB University.
