LKST IPB University Handed Over Innovation Royalties in 2024 to 13 Innovators
IPB University’s Science and Technology Area Institute (LKST) has handed over innovation royalties in 2024 to 13 innovators. The delivery of royalties was carried out on Monday, 25/3, at the Startup Center Building, IPB Campus Taman Kencana, Bogor City.
Prof Erika B Lakoni, Chief of LKST IPB University, expressed her pride and gratitude in her speech because the innovation work could be awarded by partners.
“The proportion of innovation royalties in collaboration with partners is 60 to 40 percent, based on the amount of production. In the future, we will continue to increase this royalty,” said Prof Erika.
Prof Erika added, related to information on the possibility of a new policy that states the ranking of universities no longer looks at the number of patents but looks at the quality of patents that have been collaborated with partners.
“It is no longer the quantity but the quality, whether the people can feel the results of the work of higher education innovation or not,” she said.
Prof Erika hopes that in the future if the regulations allow universities to own shares, “In running the startup business, we will involve students and innovators who will become commissioners,” she said.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at IPB University, Prof Suryo Wiyono, expressed his gratitude to LKST IPB University for supporting and assisting the innovations produced.
