Dean of Vocational school at IPB University: Applied Research Must Be Problem-Based in the Society

The Dean of IPB University’s Vocational School (SV), Dr Aceng Hidayat, said that IPB University’s Vocational School not only has a strong foundation to carry out a research that can be published in national and international journals. But also must apply research that is implementative to the Society. This was conveyed by him in the Study Program Excellence Applied Research Workshop, Vocational School at IPB University, (16/3).

The workshop becomes a place for each head of the study program at IPB University to present their research plans in every individual respective fields. This activity proves Vocational School of IPB University’s commitment in producing innovative research and providing concrete solutions to actual problems in the community.

Hope from IPB University’s Vocational School, that this activity aims to be a place for every lecturers to discuss the applied research plan that will be carried out. Those research is expected to contribute to the improvement of Main Performance Indicator (IKU) of IPB University’s Vocational School.

“We are committed to producing research based on real problems in the community, with integrated solutions in the excellence of each study program,” said Dr Aceng.

The IPB University’s lecturer also added that every study program must have a strong base in dealing with social problems. They said, every solution of that problem must be integrated in a roadmap that is presented today. Results from research are expected to have a high impact, sustainable, and strengthen the Vocational School of IPB University’s position as a leader in applied research.

“We hope that the result of every research can improve academic reputation of IPB University’s Vocational School while making a real contribution to the Society,” concluded Dr Aceng. (IAAS/IAN)
