Exploring the Excellence of Nutrition Science Study Program, Favorite Study Program at IPB University
Nutritional problems, especially for children and pregnant and lactating mothers, are still occurring. Stunting, for example, is one of the main issues of nutrition in Indonesia today. Therefore, the role of academics and nutritionists is needed in encouraging the alleviation of national nutrition and health problems.
The Bachelor of Nutrition Science Study Program at IPB University is here to answer this challenge. Striving to improve the quality of human life, this study program has a mandate to develop the science of human nutrition and apply this knowledge at the family and community levels (community nutrition).
IPB University Nutrition Science Study Program is located in the Department of Community Nutrition, Faculty of Human Ecology (Fema). Nutrition Science is one of the favorite study programs for prospective students. This study program is the first nutrition science study program in Indonesia and has been accredited ‘Excellent’ by the Indonesian Institute for Self-Accreditation of Higher Education in Health (LAMPTKes).
As proof of commitment to quality, the testing laboratory in the Nutrition Science Study Program at IPB University has also been certified by SNI/ISO 17025: 2017. Lecturers in this study program are also reputable experts, most of whom hold doctoral degrees and professorships, who bring extensive teaching and research experience.
Graduates from IPB University’s Nutrition Science Program have significant advantages. They are not only able to analyze and develop solutions to nutrition problems, but also have a deep understanding of innovative and applicable science and technology in the field of nutrition.
The door for further study is also wide open with the option of continuing to the Professional Dietisien Education program or postgraduate education program. Career prospects for graduates involve various sectors, including the food and culinary industry, health products, government agencies (central and regional), public/private health agencies and national/international non-governmental organizations (NGOs). Graduates can also work as researchers or entrepreneurs in the field of food, nutrition and health.
