Let’s Get to Know the Agroindustrial Engineering Study Program of IPB University

The Undergraduate Study Program (S1) of Agroindustrial Engineering (TIN) IPB University is a study program at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) which is a pioneer in Indonesia for the development of agro-industry. This study program has a strategic role in realizing the goal of ‘Indonesia as a superior agro-industrial country at the world level’.

Agroindustry, as a sector that transforms agricultural products (in a broad sense), focuses on increasing the added value of industrial products. Therefore, students of the Agroindustrial Engineering Study Program are empowered to master modern technology that supports the process.

Integrating industrial engineering and management, this study program has shown its dedication to achieving international standards. A number of prestigious achievements have been made by IPB University’s Agroindustrial Engineering Study Program.

Some of them are winning the Central Grant (1997-2000), Quality for Undergraduate Education or QUE Project (2001-2004), Program B (2004-2006), PHKI (2007-2010), and Indonesia Managing Higher Education for Relevance and Efficiency (IMHERE) (2010-2011). These innovative steps are important milestones in providing a quality and relevant educational experience.

The quality of IPB University’s Agroindustrial Engineering Study Program education is proven by the achievement of ‘Superior’ accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This study program has also been internationally accredited by the Indonesian Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (IABEE) since February 2023. This further emphasizes its quality and relevance in facing the challenges of higher education.

The development of these achievements is also accompanied by the development of career prospects. Agroindustrial Engineering graduates of IPB University can play a wide role in various industrial sectors. Starting from national and multinational industries, technopreneurs, research and development institutions, banking and financial institutions, to government agencies.

In addition to the regular program, IPB University’s S1 TIN Study Program also has an International Class. Not only with technical skills, students are also equipped with creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit to achieve success in various industrial fields.

“In the Agricultural Industrial Engineering Study Program of IPB University, I learned a lot about agro-industry from various sides, both in terms of production processes, industrial management, production costs, business, and the environment. Thus, this knowledge will be very useful for the continuity of life,” said Karisma Putri Pratama, Best Graduate of Fateta IPB University in 2023.
According to Farhani Fadlillah Syifaramadan, who has also won the Best Graduate of Fateta IPB University, what she got while studying is very useful for her career. “I believe that the knowledge and practices provided in this study program will take me to a higher place in my future career,” she said.

In addition, she said the agroindustry capstone design project, which is a compulsory course and a requirement for student graduation, taught her many things.
