IPB University and the National University of Singapore (NUS) have once again strengthened their commitment to academic collaboration. Through NUS Enterprise, NUS collaborates with IPB University in the Master of Science in Venture Creations (MSVC) program, a postgraduate program that focuses on the process of transforming ideas and innovations into businesses.

On Tuesday (27/2), both parties agreed to sign a memorandum of agreement (MoA) to open opportunities for IPB University graduates to receive further education in the field of Venture Creations at NUS.

Starting his speech, Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria said, “This new collaboration with NUS in Venture Creations is in line with IPB University’s vision to take part in sociopreneurship and technopreneurship. Both are very important to achieve social and economic missions.”

Prof Arif Satria also emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship in supporting Indonesia’s agricultural industry to produce higher quality and more efficient products. As a form of effort to support this mission, IPB University has a variety of techno-sociopreneurship-based community development programs, one of which is One Village One CEO (OVOC).

The signing of the MoA was carried out at the NUS Enterprise campus by the Rector of IPB University together with Prof Chee Yeow Meng (Vice President for Innovation and Enterprise NUS), witnessed by Dr Dwi Larso (Director of Scholarships of the Education Fund Management Institution / LPDP) and Dr Wilson Wang (Deputy Academic Director of NUS Enterprise Academy and Head of Postgrad and CET Programmes).

The event was also attended by the Education and Culture Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) to Singapore, Dr IGAK Satrya Wibawa, along with representatives of IPB University namely Prof Iskandar Siregar (Vice Rector for Global Connectivity, Collaboration and Alumni Relations), Prof Ernan Rustiadi (Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Agromaritime Development) and Dr Fitriya N Dewi (Assistant Director of Global Connectivity for International Cooperation and Networking).

The meeting between IPB University and NUS Enterprise became a forum for productive discussions, including interactions involving NUS MSVC program students from Indonesia.

Cooperation related to the MSVC program will continue to be developed as one of the follow-up steps from the signing of the MoU by the Rector of IPB University and the President of NUS, Prof Tan Eng Chye, during Prof Tan’s Scientific Oration in the 60th Anniversary of IPB University last October 2023.

Various forms of collaboration in the field of education also continue to be explored by NUS and IPB University, especially in efforts to develop entrepreneurship and innovation-based sociopreneurship. This will have a direct impact on the people of Indonesia and also expand the work of IPB University at the global level. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Ard)
