DPMA IPB University Socializes the Dosen Pulang Kampung Program in 2024

The Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development of IPB University held a socialization of the program “Dosen Pulang Kampung 2024,” 26/2. Through this program, IPB University lecturers will return to their respective regions and develop the potential in the area.

Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria said that he strongly supported the implementation of the Lecturer Return Home 2024 program. According to him, this program provides an opportunity for IPB University lecturers to be able to re-activate in locations that have historical and sociological value personally for lecturers.

“This activity is a form of service as a village representative in the homeland by bringing innovations at IPB University. The lecturers will also provide assistance to the community in solving problems in order to achieve socio-resilience, considering that IPB University strongly supports sustainable development and socio-economic resilience in the community,” said Prof Arif Satria.

Dr Handian Purwawangsa as Director of Agromaritime Community Development (PMA), said, in 2023, the Dosen Pulang Kampung program was carried out in 51 locations or villages spread across 17 provinces in Indonesia. There were at least 173 lecturers and 1,689 people who benefited from the program.

The Dosen Pulang Kampung program in 2024 targets the involvement of 352 lecturers and 176 students. This program is expected to be a forum for downstreaming IPB University innovations to the community to solve existing problems.

Dr Supriyanto, Assistant Director of PMA for Agromaritime Services and Digital Farming conveyed several criteria for lecturers who would be involved in this program. The criteria are IPB University lecturers (civil servants / permanent non-civil servants) consisting of at least four lecturers involving at least two students and not currently in the study period. Other criteria are having activity partners, having a long-term program plan with activities in the form of technical guidance and mentoring and the community involved is at least 25 people.

“Some of the rights that will be obtained for the lecturers involved are the Rector’s Decree, certificates, program funds, and facilitation from DPMA IPB University. This program is expected to provide the widest possible benefits for the academic community and the community involved in the application of IPB University innovations,” said Dr Supriyanto. (IAAS/NYS)
