The Forest Products Technology (THH) Study Program at IPB University is designed to produce high-quality graduates to meet these needs. For its students, the education in this program greatly greatly aids them in enhancing the quality of products and developing business strategies.
At least that was conveyed by M Haikal Arrasuli, one of the students of THH IPB University. In fact, he proved that during his studies, Haikal had pioneered Hudri Core’s business which engaged in woodworking.
“Why should one choose the THH Program at IPB University? From all aspects of life, God has provided us with a vast nature, especially forests with all their richness. When we don’t make the best use of it, they will perish,” he said.
“By studying here, we know and are ready to manage forests properly, both in terms of wood and non-wood,” said the 8th semester IPB student.
THH IPB University is the oldest forest product technology study program in Indonesia. Under the leadership of the Department of Forest Products, Faculty of Forestry and Environment IPB University has been accredited by the National Accreditation Agency of Higher Education (BAN-PT) and the international Society of Wood Science and Technology (SWST).
At Study Program THH IPB University, students learn the development of science and technology using forest products to produce primary forest products. It includes wood quality improvement technologies, forest products chemistry, biocomposites, wood structure design and endurance, and forest products industrial management.
This study program provides graduates to be able to innovate and implement the science and technology of processing forest products by prioritizing sustainability and efficiency. The applied fundamental fields of knowledge include biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, economics, and management.
Graduates of THH program at IPB University are expected to be able to master science, technology, management, and the economy as well as the environment in the supply of raw materials and industrial processing and utilization of forest products to be able to carry out sustainable forest resources management.
Job prospects
The job prospects for graduates of this study program are nothing to worry about. There are some pretty promising options. THH IPB University graduates can become directors in wood and non-wood processing industries, entrepreneurs in the field of wood and non-wood forest product processing, auditors or policy developers in wood legality certification, researchers in various research institutions, lecturers, and bureaucrats (central and regional governments).
