School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) IPB University conducted Basic Training on Laboratory Animal Handling on 17-20/1. This activity is a collaboration between SKHB IPB University and the Faculty of Medicine Trisakti University.

This training event aims to provide knowledge for future doctors and those who will enter the world of work. This event was attended by students with a total of 14 participants with speakers, namely, Dr Andriyanto, Dr Aulia Andi Mustika, drh Tri Isyani Tungga Dewi, Dr Lina Noviyana Sutardi, and Dr Diah Nugrahani.

“This training increased our knowledge related to laboratory animals, such as introduction to laboratory animals, handling and restraint, drug application, euthanasia, surgery, and sample handling,” said Nabila Charisa Putri Kartoprajitno, one of the participants.

The training activities focused on the practice of using laboratory animals by presenting several speakers, namely drh Tri Isyani Tungga Dewi, drh Arni Diana Fitri, Dr Amaq Fadholly, Dr Ridi Arif, and were assisted by three intern students from the Laboratory Animal Management Unit (UPHL) SKHB IPB University.

The other agenda is the introduction of the environment at SKHB IPB University such as the Animal Teaching Hospital (RSHP), Reproductive Rehabilitation Unit (URR), and Animal Laboratory and Research Unit (UPHL).

There was also an assessment of students who have participated in basic training by making presentations to the assessment team from SKHB IPB University including drh Arni Diana Fitri, Dr Aulia Andi Mustika, drh Tri Isyani Tungga Dewi, and Dr Amaq Fadholly. (AP/Lp) (IAAS/ZQA)
