Frida Aulia, Alumni of IPB University Successfully Realizing Dreams as Fashion Designer

Frida Nursanti Aulia is one of the inspiring alumni of IPB University who successfully realized her dream as a businesswoman and fashion designer. The woman born in Bandung on March 26, 1977, has known the world of entrepreneurship since she was a student.

Frida has a passion for marketing and business. She realized her interest by running a fashion business. Carrying the concept of Bogor City batik motifs and her life experiences, Frida runs her business under the fashion brand Frida Aulia Indonesia.

“I started my fashion business from being a supplier to many hijab resellers. I don’t use a special model to promote my products. However, to attract consumers’ interest, I wear the products myself,” said Teh Ida, her nickname, recounting the beginning of her business career.

Falling in love with the world of fashion led her to study design courses and associate with batik micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and tailors in Cirebon, Jember, and Situbondo to assist in production. Currently, Frida manages three galleries.

From 2017 to 2022, Frida travelled to Russia, Mumbai, Turkey, Berlin, Australia, Vietnam, and Brunei Darussalam to hold fashion shows. Hard work in advancing fashion at home and abroad, she has made various achievements and awards and was nominated for the 2021 IPB University Alumni Award in the Entrepreneur category.

For her, IPB University is a school of life. Frida was repeatedly asked to speak at several campuses, hoping to open the eyes of students about entrepreneurship and sociopreneurs.

She also shared the tricks of being a successful entrepreneur and housewife through life’s trials and fostering good relationships with customers. According to her, an entrepreneur must focus on the chosen business and be optimistic.

“Believe that every choice we make is the best. Happy so that our ideas come out, optimistic, hard work, confidence, and the most important key is the power of friendship,” said the alumnus of Bachelor of Fisheries Socio-Economics and Master of Agribusiness Management, IPB University Business School.
