IPB University held Agricamp for International Students at Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) IPB University (9/12). This event was held as a farewell to 30 international students who had completed their education at IPB University.

This activity was intended for international students from the student exchange program and recipients of the Developing Country Partnership (KNB) scholarship class of 2023. Not only that, Agricamp was also attended by international students who received Indofood and The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) scholarships.

Director of International Education of IPB University, Puji Mudiana SP, MA revealed that this farewell event was held in the form of a Farewell Party, as a closing after international students completed one semester at IPB University. While at IPB University, these students have undergone various activities, taking classes/courses and research activities.

“As a memorable moment, we decided to hold a special Agricamp for international students. This Agricamp involved inbound and postgraduate students who were all excited to explore the extensive agricultural facilities at ATP IPB University,” she said.

Puji continued that the Agricamp provided an in-depth insight into the power of agriculture from upstream to downstream. She said this event was an opportunity for international students to understand that IPB University is not only famous in the world of agriculture, but also a great force in developing innovation and knowledge in agriculture.

“Hopefully this Agricamp can give a positive impression to them. This activity is proof that IPB University is not only a place to learn, but also the right destination for those who want to explore agricultural science,” he said.

Assistant Director of International Education Implementation, Directorate of International Education IPB University, Alfiasari, SP, MSi revealed that this activity became a series of farewells integrated with the departure of exchange students starting next week to their home countries.

She said the concept of this activity involved the introduction of various areas at ATP University such as crystal guava garden, coffee, avocado, golden melon, fisheries, greenhouse and plant factory.

“This Agricamp mission introduces that IPB University does not only focus on theoretical learning, but also has a practical approach in the world of agriculture,” he said.

“We want to emphasize that studying at IPB University is not only taught theory, but also provides an interesting and memorable experience of the world of agriculture. (dr/Rz) (IAAS/Ard)
