Dozens of Startups of Primestep Program and Business Incubation Program of IPB University follow Financial Management Coaching Series

A total of 14 startups participated in the Primestep Program from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), 27 startups participating in the IPB University Business Incubation Program attended the Startup Coaching Series, 14-15/11. The event was held in the Ballroom of the Startup Center Building of Sains Techno Park (STP) Taman Kencana Campus, Bogor.

The Startup Coaching Series included financial management coaching, opportunities and strategies to get series funding and product branding. In this coaching, participants were also given an understanding of quality management and product safety, strategic opportunities to enter the global market and strategies to attract investment and business negotiations.

Prof Erika B Laconi, Chairperson of the Science Techno Park Institute of IPB University said that this activity was an additional knowledge for startup business people. “A total of 41 startups that take part in this Coaching Series, whether they get funding from PHLN- ADB or IPB University, must be able to grow and develop so that the product business that is run must be based on innovation,” she said.

She continued, STP IPB University is ready to facilitate the need for a distribution license for products produced by startups. This effort is given so that businesses have a wide reach to various countries, not only in cities and districts.

Vice Chairperson of STP IPB University, Business and Industry Partnership, Dr Rokhani Hasbullah urged the participants to take the coaching seriously. He added that this coaching is a good opportunity for tenants to get new insights and enlightenment if they experience obstacles in doing business.

In addition, he said that the coaching series is an effort to make startups refer to the fulfillment of standards. Thus, the products produced can be competitive products and how to strategize when facing competitors.

Meanwhile, the Chair of Business Incubator Division of STP IPB University, Deva Primadia Almada, MSi in her report said that the Startup Coaching Series activity aims to increase the capacity of human resources, knowledge and skills of startups in running a business.

Deva said that the invited speakers were competent people who came from various agencies and practitioners. They are Fahmil Fauzi from Nexplus; Asaduddin Abdullah, Lecturer of School of Business IPB University; Reza Wisnu Kusuma, owner of Bogor culinary tourism; Tetuko Widarso who is a Consultant of PT Premysis Consulting Jakarta; Nurhidayat, exporter; and Ali Mutasowifin, lecturer from Faculty of Economics and Management IPB University.
