IPB University’s Palm Oil Innovation Presentation at the Market on Sustainable Palm Oil at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

IPB University attended the Market Presentation on Sustainable Palm Oil, on Wednesday (1/11) at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Jakarta. This activity was in the framework of the working visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Ms. Hanke Bruins Slot to Indonesia. The visit was related to cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands in the field of Sustainable Palm Oil.

Through the Directorate of Global Connectivity, Collaboration, and Alumni Relations together with the Directorate of Research and Innovation, and Agromaritime Development, IPB University displayed several palm oil innovation products including OPTIMAL IPB (Oil Palm Trees Identification based on Machine Learning) and SIPESAT IPB (Information System for Performance Assessment and Institutional Strengthening of the Palm Oil Supply Chain).

Other IPB University palm oil innovations displayed were PRECI PALM (Precision Agriculture Platform for Palm Oil) GREEN FAST IPB (Green Fashion Sawit), e-BHAR (Electric Bunch Harvester or Palm Harvesting Machine), red palm oil, surfactant and palm glycerol products (GoCat, hand sanitizer, Egea, FASTREX and Aurora/Oil Palm Maturity Monitoring Robot).

Present at the event were Prof Kudang Boro Seminar and Dr Harry Imantho as representatives of IPB University palm oil researchers. He explained, “Various innovations, research, and technology carried out by IPB University support the sustainable use of palm oil.”

Not only IPB University, but the Royal Netherlands Embassy also collaborated with several non-government organizations (NGOs) and private companies to participate in this activity. (*/Rz) (IAAS/TNY)
