LKST IPB University Holds Monev of PRIMESTeP Startup Business Incubation Programme Year 2023
The Science and Technology Area Institute (LKST) of IPB University conducted internal monitoring and evaluation to 14 startups receiving the Batch 1 Startup Business Incubation Programme Year 2023 on Tuesday, 17/10 at the STP Startup Center Building, IPB Taman Kencana Campus, Bogor.
The activity was carried out in the context of monitoring and supervising the implementation of the Startup Business Incubation Programme Year 2023 through the ADB Loan 4272-INO programme: Promoting Research and Innovation Through Modern and Efficient Science and Technology Parks Project (PRIMESTeP) Year 2023.
Prof Erika B Laconi as the Chairperson of LKST IPB University emphasised the importance of innovation and legal aspects in managing the business of startups so that their products can compete in the market.
“LKST will continue to provide assistance to startup tenants so that their products can also compete at the global level and successfully attract investors in their business development,” continued Prof Erika.
LKST Business Incubator Assistant, Deva Primadia Almada said that the target of this incubation programme is quite challenging. “After 5 years of the incubation programme, at least three startups will receive advanced series funding. That is, two startups get series B funding and one startup gets series C funding from Venture Capital, so of course it takes the right and mature strategy and planning,” she said.
The PRIMESTeP Startup Business Incubation Programme is conducted on a multi-year basis (2023-2027) to incubate a minimum of 100 startups. The incubation programme provided to startups consists of workshops, bootcamp, grant, mentoring, coaching, mentoring, benchmarking, business matching and expo as well as monitoring and evaluation (monev).
To identify and know the outcomes, implementation of action plans and utilisation of funds by startups, internal monev is conducted by the LKST team. In addition, discussions were also held regarding startup business performance in terms of turnover, business development, business partnerships, obstacles faced and solutions taken.
