Students of the Department of Aquatic Products Technology of IPB University who are part of the Student Organization Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) of the Fishery Products Technology Student Association (Himasilkan) visited the homes of RW 10 residents, Rancabungur Village, Bogor Regency, West Java (9/9). The visit was in the context of coordination and discussion regarding individual business groups that are being run by Rancabungur Village women.

On this occasion, Abdul Faiq Jidan as the PPK Ormawa Himasilkan team said that he was ready to help mothers in the entrepreneurial process, especially in marketing strategies.

“Here we will help individual mothers to improve their marketing. We have a team in the marketing sector that will assist in the broader marketing process such as in e-commerce and social media. Our team will also assist in marketing strategies later,” said Faiq (9/9).

Responding to this, Dedeh as a resident of RW 10 revealed about the sales and marketing process that she has been engaged in so far. “For my own sales, I don’t have the products every day. It’s just according to residents’ requests and seasonal like on certain days. The products sold are also limited to marketing on WhatsApp due to limitations in technological knowledge,” said Dedeh during the visit (9/9).

He also added that the products sold vary, not only in the form of food but also electronics, and clothing depending on the demand from residents.

Mona Dianita, as the person in charge of the marketing sector, said to focus on one product to be developed, but still to fulfill the community’s demand for another products or goods. “For products that you want to develop, just one product, for example food products only. But still accept public demand if they want another product such as electronics or clothing, in the context as a side product, “said Mona Dianita, IPB University student.

Through coaching by the PPKO Himasilkan IPB University Team, Mona hopes that mothers who have businesses at home can maximize this opportunity to increase sales and marketing. (*/ra) (IAAS/MKY)
