Improving Scientific Publication Management and Journalizing, DKSRA IPB University Explores UTM Press and IJN Malaysia Publishers
IPB University's Directorate of Strategic Studies and Academic Reputation (DKSRA) conducted a comparative study at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), especially the UTM Press Publisher. The activity aims to establish friendship in order to improve management related to scientific publications and journals.
UTM Press Publisher is a unit whose one of their duty is to disseminate research results and new discoveries by university academics, including through the publication of scientific journals and books.
The visit of DKSRA IPB University was warmly welcomed by the Director of UTM Press Publisher, namely Assoc Prof Siti Rahmah Binti Awang. Prioritized activities by placing their respective units and followed by presentations related to programs organized by UTM Press Publisher, especially those related to improving the quality of scientific publications and the journalism they manage. UTM Press Publisher manages 15 journals, three of which are Scopus indexed.
The activity continued with a discussion and also question and answer session from both parties regarding the management program carried out by each unit. After that, DKSRA IPB University was welcome to visit the Bookstore owned by UTM Press Publisher to see the various types of books being published.
Apart from conducting a comparative study with the UTM Press Publisher, the IPB University DKSRA team also took the time to visit one of the research centers at UTM, namely the IJN-UTM Cardiovascular Engineering Center, Institute of Human Centered Engineering, which is a collaboration between UTM and the National Heart Institute (IJN). The Director of IJN, Dr Syafiqah Binti Saidin warmly welcomed the DKSRA IPB University group and explained the various programs and activities managed by his unit.
"DKSRA IPB University has learned a lot from the centralized journal management system run by UTM Press Publisher. We also get a lot of inspiration regarding the management of grant funds used by IJN to support various research and the performance achievements of the research team," said Prof. Anuraga, Director of KSRA IPB University.
