Faculty of Animal Sciences IPB University Establishes Collaboration with Faculty of Agriculture USU

The Faculty of Animal Sciences (Fapet) of IPB University agreed to collaborate with the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra (USU). The signing of this collaboration agreement that took place in the Fapet Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor (1/8).

The signing was a form of academic and research collaboration in the implementation of the Freedom of Learning – Independence Campus (MBKM) curriculum and the tri dharma of higher education in the field of animal husbandry. In addition, the signing also signed the implementation of summer course activities with the theme ‘Shaping the Pathways of Livestock Production in Tackling Global Economic Uncertainty’ carried out by the Department of Animal Production Science and Technology (IPTP), Fapet IPB University.

“Our seniors have collaborated a lot with seniors at USU, especially the Animal Science Study Programme. This signing is also an official reaffirmation because collaboration and synergy is one of our strengths together to be superior to face the challenges of the times,” said Dean of Fapet IPB University, Dr Idat Galih Permana.

In his speech, Dr Idat also mentioned that Medan is one of the most interesting cities for students. “Apart from studying, students also want to gain experience in other cities. We have also collaborated a lot in the field of MBKM with various programmes, such as internships and student exchanges,” he added.

Dean of USU’s Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Tavi Supriana, appreciated the collaboration. “We are alumni of IPB University. In the Animal Husbandry Study Programme, the collaboration is very good so that it has succeeded in making the S1 and S2 Animal Sciences Study Programmes superior. I always take examples of outcomes from IPB University, especially Fapet, which has a good animal sciences strategy, such as the summer course collaboration with UPM,” she said.

The event was also attended by the Vice Dean of Fapet IPB University for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs Prof Irma Isnafia Arief, Chairman of the IPTP Department Prof Asep Gunawan and Chairman of the Department of Nutrition Science and Feed Technology (INTP) Dr Heri Ahmad Sukria. Each of them delivered a presentation in a discussion session with leaders from the USU Faculty of Agriculture, especially the Animal Sciences Study Programme. (Femmy/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
