IPB University student groups in the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKN-T) activities in Pulosari Village, Kalapanunggal District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java held the PLEASING (Pulosari Prevent Stunting) program. With the theme "Smart Management of Family Finances", the program was carried out as an effort to prevent stunting.

This program is in the form of counseling delivered directly by one of the IPB University lecturers from the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Faculty of Human Ecology, Dr Megawati Simanjuntak. This counseling is intended for posyandu cadres and mothers of family welfare empowerment (PKK) as well as pregnant women and those who already have toddlers.

The presentation of the material contains the importance of managing family finances as an effort to prevent stunting which includes steps to manage finances, expenses for children and practical tips on budget cuts.

"Stunting is a broad issue, in the sense that it covers many aspects of life, including the family economy. Therefore, it is very important for families to understand and have skills in managing finances," said Shabrina, as the person in charge of the activity.

According to her, the presence of speakers who are lecturers in Family and Consumer Sciences at IPB University really helps students in providing intelligence on family financial management. Material that is easy to understand and delivered in a fun way is expected to help Pulosari residents in their efforts to prevent stunting.

"There are many factors that underlie stunting in Pulosari Village. However, the most important thing to pay attention to is the economic factor which is the basis for the occurrence of stunting in this village, considering that most of the villagers are farmers and breeders whose income may not be fixed. Therefore, counseling regarding family financial management is very important so that residents can better manage their family finances to meet the needs of their children," said Jeanne Ludwika, leader of the KKN-T Innovation team during the counseling at the Pulosari Village Hall.

Not only counseling, the IPB University Innovation KKN-T student group in Pulosari Village also provided additional food (PMT) in the form of carrot puree, chocolate pudding, papaya pudding and banana nuggets. The selection of PMT basic materials was based on considerations of the ease of obtaining these basic materials in Pulosari Village. The aim is for the community to take advantage of the natural potential that exists in their area and instill an understanding that healthy and nutritious food does not always have to be expensive.
