Inaugurating the Vocational School Gymnasium, This is the Hope of the Rector of IPB University

The Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria inaugurated the Vocational School Gymnasium at the IPB Building Gede Campus, Jalan Raya Pajajaran, Bogor, (1/9). In this inauguration, Prof Arif hopes that more IPB University students will exercise to maintain physical fitness.
“I congratulate the IPB University Vocational School for pioneering this gymnasium. Now it can be used. “This building belongs to all of us, students in Dramaga and in various places can exercise here,” said Prof Arif in his speech.
The Rector of IPB University hopes that the new building at the Vocational School can be utilized optimally by IPB University residents. According to him, the more people who use this gymnasium, the better the benefits.
“So, the principle is that we use it as much as possible so that it is really used to increase energy for our freshness and so on,” he said.
According to Prof Arif, the most important thing about a new building is maintenance. He asked for attention to the maintenance of this gymnasium so that the IPB University academic community could continue to use this sports facility.
“Hopefully with this building we will be more enthusiastic, because there is a new theory about extended mindset, so an extended mindset is a mindset that is built because of the physical environment. “The physical environment influences our way of thinking,” said Prof Arif Satria.
He continued, “If our room is crowded and all kinds of things, it shows that our way of thinking is complicated. So, I think neatness, discipline, cleanliness and beauty are important things. “In principle, humans like beauty,” continued Prof Arif.
On the same occasion, the Dean of the IPB University Vocational School, Dr Aceng Hidayat, reported that the stands on the first floor of the IPB University Vocational School Gymnasium could accommodate a seating capacity of 720 people. On the second floor, a very important person (VIP) tribune was prepared.
“We are currently working on improving the outside landscape, both for parks and parking lots and also other supporting facilities. “Hopefully it can be used (after repairs) at graduation in November,” said Dr Aceng.
Dr Aceng said that the IPB University Vocational School Gymnasium was working to be able to finance itself. This means that the maintenance of this sports hall does not use the annual work plan and budget (RKAT) or comes from the students’ single tuition fee (UKT).
“God willing, communication from the IPB University Alumni Association will begin. He said he wanted to use certain events. A number of event organizers (EO) have also approached us to create events, both sporting and non-sporting. “All of this will produce benefits,” he explained.
Dr Aceng targets that the IPB University Vocational School Gymnasium can provide significant benefits. At the very least, his party can cover building maintenance costs from the money generated.
“Hopefully this building will provide extraordinary benefits for all of us and we certainly want it in the context of a balance between lifestyle and everyday life. I think hopefully this building can be a symbol of that,” he concluded. (MHT/ra) (IAAS/Res)
