Research Station
Pasir Sarongge Garden
Pasir Sarongge Garden is located in Pacet Subdistrict, Cianjur Regency, West Java. The activities in the site are include vegetable cultivation, packing house and agro-tourism package as a place for field practicum for students in cultivation aspects, post-harvest handling, to marketing aspects.
Gunung Walat Education Forest (GWEF)
Gunung Walat Education Forest (GWEF) has area of 359 hectare. The site is located in Cibadak and Cicantayan Subdistrict, Sukabumi Regency, about 50 km from Bogor. GWEF is a State forest area designated as an Education and Training Forest whose management is handed over to the Faculty of Forestry, IPB University.
In the GWEF area, there are a wide variety of wildlife species including species of mammals, reptiles, birds and fish. From groups of mammals there are wild pigs (Sus scrofa), long-tailed monkeys (Macaca fascicularis), wild rabbits (Nesolagus sp), Meong congkok (Felis bengalensis), squirrels (Callociurus sp.J), pangolin (Manis javanica), ferrets ( Paradoxurus hermaphroditic). Of the bird species (Aves) there are around 83 species of birds, including Javanese eagle, Emprit, Kutilang and others. In addition, in this forest there are also species of reptiles, including monitor lizards, snakes, chameleons.
Tinjil Island
Tinjil Island is one of island that registered under the government of Banten Province. The island is located in Indian Ocean to the south of Java island. Since 1988, Tinjil island was set to be breeding place of long-tailed monkeys brought in from Sumatra and Java. Tinjil Island is used as a place for semi-natural breeding and captivity which is managed by the Center for Primate Animal Studies (PSSP), Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IPB University for research activities.
Facilities that offers in Tinjil island rae include cage along forest tracking route and basecamp, food warehouse, and enrichment facilities for monkey. The monkeys of Tinjil island has criteria of specific pathogen free (SPF), which indicates its separability from disease.
The research activity cooperation between IPB University and other agencies body in Tinjil island has been done very well. The example of those activities are American Inst for Indonesian Studies (AIFIS), One Heart One Institute USA, Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of Indonesia, South East Asia Center, and other agencies.
Fish Pond
IPB University is managing Babakan fish pond field station and experimental fish pond under the supervisory of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science. Both fish pond station consist of 29 fish pond with area of 200 m2, freshwater fish eggs hatchery, seawater eggs hatchery, teaching farm for ornamental fish and feed processing. In addition, there are also several other Teaching Farms namely Cultivation of Fish Breeding Models, Cultivation of Fish Cultivation Models, and Ornamental Fish Hatchery.
Sabisa Farm
Sabisa is an acronym of Sarana Belajar Petani Sarjana or literally means Learning Facilities for Undergraduate Farmers. Sabisa Farm can be the learning tools for students that are interested in farming and farm businesses. Sabisa farm offers guidance service to students while managing their horticulture businesses.
Sabisa Farm was established in 2013 and is in Jalan Sindang Barang, Bogor City. The farm is planted with not more than 2000 red flesh dragon fruit trees and 200 white flesh dragon fruit trees in area of 6000 m2.
In this farm, visitors can pick the dragon fruit directly from the tree and enjoy it in fresh conditions. In addition, visitors can also get new insight into dragon fruit and its cultivation methods.
The Farm of Agribusiness and Technology ParkĀ
IPB University has Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP), which is an integrated agribusiness pilot center located in Cikarawang Village, Dramaga, Bogor. In addition to functioning as a means of research and development of horticultural products, ATP also provide variety of fresh vegetable and fruit products and various plant seeds.
Cikabayan Farm
In the Cikabayan farm there are several plant collection zones that can support practical activities and student research such as collections of durians, palm, coffee, aloe vera, breadfruit, and others.
Pelabuhan Ratu Field Station
The Marine Field Station is one of the facilities owned by the Department of Aquaculture of IPB University. Built on an area of 4 hectares, this field station is equipped with lecture rooms, labs and lodging (guest house) located in Pelabuhan Ratu, Sukabumi. At Pelabuhan Ratu there is also a field practice of fishing. At this location, IPB University also collaborated with a private sector to enlarge and process eel into kabayaki, a product that is exported to Japan.
