Social Entrepreneurship commonly called sociopreneur is a derivative term of entrepreneurship. The word social means about society, and entrepreneurship means doing a business.  A sociopreneur is a person who understands social problems and uses his or her entrepreneurship skills to make social changes, especially in the fields of welfare, education and health.

The Student Creativity Program for Humanitarian Social Research (PKM-PSH) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) led by Muhammad Febri Ramdani and colleagues conducted a mapping study on "Characteristics of a Sociopreneur to build economic solidarity of community in Bogor city and Rural Regency". The problem that often happens is the economic improvement of society.

The economic condition of Indonesia can be seen from the culture of the society and its economic condition. However, this is not enough, so it needs to pay attention to the social and cultural characteristics of the community. The characteristics of a sociopreneur not only focus the business on profit but also consider his business activities to produce benefits that can be felt by the community. One of the important points of reference in entrepreneurial motive which considers the benefit is a social capital. It is a system that rests on the outcomes of social organizations to promote economic growth and development.

With this research, we try to identify the characteristics of entrepreneurs who are not only profit-oriented but also improve the social quality of the community. Once the characteristics have been identified, it would be easy to implant them to the young," said Febri Ramdani.

She said the research is conducted in Bogor City and Regency because both have many residents who work as sociopreneurs. The characteristics of sociopreneurs are the skills to identify problems in people's lives, solve problems by changing the system, disseminate the solution and convince the whole community, give bait and hook instead of giving fish. These will encourage the socio-economic movement of the community.

Youth community in Bogor City and Bogor Regency is the target or the participants to be empowered because they are the nation's next generation. Bogor Youth has the qualities and characteristics with certain rights, roles and obligations with certain potentials as well as needs. Thus, they require special attention to increase the interest in building an entrepreneurial self-employed spirit through training and seminars.

For now, Febri Ramdhani and his colleagues are still exploring it. The resulted study will be published in a journal and recommendation of formulated mapping of sociopreneur characteristics as reference to create a module book for a socioprener school. For the wider community, this will be a place to study and understand the entrepreneurial characteristics to implanted into the younger generation. (Mtd)
