From a series of achievements obtained and persistence to the forestry world, Fitri Nadhira was elected to be the Ambassador of the Institute (DI) representing the Faculty of Forestry of IPB. According to her, being a student of IPB was something to be grateful for. The complete lecture facilities were very supportive of the interests and talents of the students.

“I am very proud to be a part of Fahutan of IPB, because only in IPB it has the best forest fire labor throughout ASEAN. Other than that, one of the very helpful facilities is Dormitory. Only IPB has a multi-cultural coaching program. I change much better compared to when SMA while in the Dormitory. You could say, the Compulsory Domitory of IPB is my starting point of change,” said Nadhira.

Born in Jakarta, 20 years ago, Nadhira lived amid high-rise buildings, dense settlements, and stale capital. This condition made Nadhira become a person with strong personality and happy adventure in nature. In addition to refreshing, every time there was always spare time for just traveling and looking for inspiration. Departing from the traveling hobby was what made Nadhira choose to be a student in the Department of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism, Faculty of Forestry IPB.

Her journey to study in IPB began in 2014. In her first year being the student of IPB, Nadhira successfully listed herself as the Best Participant of Delegation for Indonesia Contingent to Asian Scout Exchange Student 2014  in Tuba Island Langkawi, Malaysia.

Being active in the scouting of Pramuka was one of her passion. Until now, all activities were always concentrated in the fields of forestry and ecotourism. The climax was when Nadhira succeeded in becoming a delegation of the International Forestry Students Association Local Committee (IFSA LC)-IPB in the event of the International Forestry Student Symposium (IFSS) in Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa.

“The struggle to become the participant of IFSS requires strong determination and effort. I raise the theme of “The Eduecotourism Mangrove at Trenggalek, East Java”. There is this research I combine of the concept of education in the natural tourism rides which are wrapped to improve the economy. So the name of the concept is named Eduecotourism,” she said.

In addition to be the achiever, the social soul of Nadhira was also honed through a program of dedication to the community that was developed i.e. Village Concept Project (VCP). Together with the Student Association for Conservation and Ecotourism (HIMAKOVA) of IPB, Nadhira became a PIC of VCP program that routinely built assisted villages every week.

“Wherever we can excel, let alone in IPB” said Nadhira.

As the Ambassador of the Institute elected in 2017-2018, Nadhira advised especially for brothers/sisters of SMA to not hesitate in choosing the majors in IPB. All majors in IPB were the best majors. Coupled with the culture and the culture in the campus was awake, adding to the codivity and effectiveness of the students in achieving in all areas. (IS/Zul)
