Anisa, Runner Up in IPB Environment Ambassador of 2017

Being part of the Bogor Agricultural University's (IPB) Environmental Ambassador is a significant achievement in life, said Anisa Zulfa Salamah. Starting from her concern over the garbage problem at IPB’s General Competency Education Program (PPKU), she became interested in environmental issues, especially waste management. The selection of IPB’s Green Environment Ambassador (IGEA) 2017 was an opportunity for Anisa to contribute to and be a part of IPB’s Campus environment change. Until finally she was elected in the top 20 finalists of IGEA 2017.

The student of Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) said, the whole series of activities in this competition were made very interesting. All finalists were gathered to interact and share opinions, and then given guidance on personal branding, public speaking, and how to arrange projects on the environment. The finalists were also confronted with some challenges to interact with the community around IPB campus to introduce garbage issues, social media campaign, conduct fieldtrip, make posters about environment, and so forth.

"Alhamdulillah (Thanks to God), after a series of IGEA activities, I was elected as a runner-up of IGEA 2017 and Best Costume in the awarding night. Being a winner or getting an award is not at all the main goal. Contribution to the environmental activities is what I am getting at. That's why I really enjoy my involvement in every IGEA event," she said.

From now on, Anisa and fellows of IGEA will work together to develop and implement environmental programs and Green movement. IGEA, hopefully, can actively contribute in maintaining the green environment of IPB by giving positive influence and continue to invite all campus communities to live environmentally friendly so that IPB Green Campus 2020 can be realized together.
