Students of Fateta-IPB Become General Winner of the 2nd Seminar AUCFA Student And Competition
Deans, Vice Deans, Heads of Departments, and 26 students in the Faculty of Agricultural Technology (Fateta) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) attended The 4th AUCFA Conference and Workshop and The 2nd AUCFA Student Seminar and Competition, (4-5 / 2), at Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand. Participating in this delegation was Dr. Sam Herodian, former Dean of Fateta-IPB, who is also one of the founders of ASEAN Universities Consortium on Food and Agro-based Engineering and Technology Education (AUCFA).
In this event, which involved the ASEAN countries who are members of the AUCFA, conferences, workshops, and a student competition were held. In it there were also a discussion on the various activities of AUCFA in student and staff mobility, curriculum development and harmonization, research and extension, and scientific communication. These activities were undertaken to improve international academic cooperation.
A total of 26 students of Fateta-IPB consisting of nine teams (from all departments) represented Fateta-IPB in the event. They presented the rice-based innovative products that could compete in the global marketplace in the form of presentations, videos, and posters. The students' participation is expected to get achievement and improve their soft skills.
In the 2nd AUCFA Student Seminar and Competition involving 20 teams from various AUCFA member countries, the students of Fateta-IPB managed to become the general champion. They won in five categories out of seven categories contested, namely First prize (Aldrian Kuswadi and Eric Prasetya), Runner-Up (Andriyana, Diang Sagita, Chandra Gupta), Best commercialization (Saiful Pratama, Galuh Ayu CK, Monika Emeralda R.), Best Innovative Idea (Muhammad A. Mujahid, Cynthia Andrian, Sylvia Indrian), and Best Technology Deployment, (Alfandias S. Putra, Anggakasi Saini, G. Galang Ramadan). *** (Mtd)
