IPB University Delegation Attends 2nd Meeting of the Republic of Indonesia-Singapore University Network

As a follow-up to the first meeting of the Republic of Indonesia-Singapore University Network (RI-SING UN) in November last year, the IPB University delegation attended the 2nd Meeting of RI-SING UN (13-14/6) at the Mercure Nusa Dua Hotel in Bali. The RI-SING UN event also aims to accelerate the cooperation plans between five Indonesian universities and six universities in Singapore.
The five Indonesian universities are IPB University, Institut Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Gadjah Mada, and the Universitas Indonesia. Meanwhile, the six Singaporean universities are the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, Singapore University of Social Sciences, Singapore University of Technology Design, and Singapore Institute Technology.
During this meeting, a matchmaking meeting was held between the delegations of the five Indonesian universities and the universities in Singapore. There were four major themes discussed during the matchmaking meeting, namely academic cooperation, industry-based study programs, collaborative research, and staff and student mobility.
On this occasion, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar, Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Collaboration, and Alumni, presented proposals for cooperation between IPB University and each of the Singaporean universities.
Dr Eva Anggraini, Director of Global Connectivity at IPB University, had the opportunity to discuss with each participant from the six Singaporean universities. “IPB University will follow up on the planned cooperation initiatives with partner universities from Singapore. We will also strengthen the implementation of ongoing collaborations,” she explained.
Also present as part of the IPB University delegation were Prof Arief Darjanto, Chairman of the Leadership and Executive Education; Dr Idqan Fahmi, Deputy Chairman of Talent Development; Prof Sugeng Heri Suseno, Director of Research and Innovation; and Dr Obie Farobie, Assistant Director of Basic and Applied Research.
On the first day of the event, Dr I Made Sukamerta, Rector of Universitas Mahasaraswati, delivered a welcome address as the host of the 2nd Meeting of RI-SING UN. This was followed by Prof Nizam, Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia; and Ms Melissa Khoo, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Education in Singapore.
