In order to make Bogor the City of Students, UIKA and IPB University have a collaboration agreement

IPB University and Ibnu Khaldun University (UIKA) agreed to collaborate. The signing of a memorandum of understanding of cooperation was carried out by the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria and Prof Mujahidin at the Institution for Technopark Science Area (LKST), Taman Kencana Campus, Bogor City, (4/5).

In his remarks, UIKA Rector, Prof Mujahidin expressed his desire to jointly with IPB University to develop Bogor into a student city. Given that there are four major universities in Bogor City. 

In addition, UIKA as a university that fosters many boarding schools under the Indonesian Boarding School Cooperation Agency (BKsPPI) wants to invite IPB University to jointly foster boarding schools.

"We have a vision to make Bogor a student city, considering that Bogor has four major universities. If calculated, the presence of universities in just one year has a significant impact on the real sector of Bogor City," he said.

Answering the matter, Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria said that it was a social responsibility to continue to encourage campuses in Bogor. He admitted, not a few campuses in Indonesia wanted to be supported by IPB University regarding many things. Rector said, not long ago IPB University provided support for Surabaya State University (Unesa). 

Regarding the development of Islamic boarding schools, Prof Arif said, IPB University has collaborated and fostered many Islamic boarding schools, including Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School and Al Bahjah Foundation.

"IPB University has helped many boarding school programs. We continue to support Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia, including in strengthening innovation, strengthening aspects of food nutrition for students, sanitation and entrepreneurship." In fact, Prof. Arif revealed, from this collaboration, there is a boarding school that has been able to export residue-free chili.

In this event, the leaders of UIKA were invited to see activities at LKST IPB University which consisted of the Teaching industry area, the location of innovation development towards industry and the Startup Center area. (dh/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
