Nuzulul Quran Commemoration ICMI – Istiqlal Mosque, Rector of IPB University: The Month of Ramadan is a Moment to Realize Rahmatan Lil Alamin

The month of Ramadan is a momentum to continue to spread hope, the goodness of benefits so that rahmatan lil alamin really comes true. The reason is, currently Muslims are faced with a number of unplanned changes that have never happened. The ability to respond to change is the main key so that Muslims can survive amidst various challenges.
This was conveyed by the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria in his brief remarks at the Nuzulul Quran Commemoration event in collaboration with the Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals Association (ICMI) and the Istiqlal Mosque (8/4).
“This is an opportunity to establish friendly relations, spread inspiration and continue to create hope for fellow Muslims. Our nation is a people who are waiting for our works, actions and actions to bring about change,” said the ICMI chairman.
In order to encourage these efforts, he and ICMI held literacy training for preachers. This training was encouraged because preachers now live in different contexts from time to time, especially the context of climate change. Dai is expected to contribute, spread inspiration so that Muslims can survive amid climate change.
“The preachers are also encouraged to strengthen literacy related to the economy, health, digital and various new things so that they can make a major contribution to the flow of change,” added Prof Arif.
The training has been carried out in several places. Prof Arif hopes that in the future it can be carried out in all regions in Indonesia on a regular basis. Along with the training, National Leadership Camps were also held in several areas.
“The program is a national consolidation step in strengthening human resources (SDM) with an orientation to the quality of faith, thought, work, work and life,” he added.
He revealed that as many as 62 to 68 percent of high school graduates (SMA) in Indonesia were unable to continue their studies at the tertiary level due to economic and financial difficulties. Therefore, Prof Arif also inaugurated a community education collaboration with the market so that the participants could become entrepreneurs.
“These efforts are a function of tabligh and transformation that should be carried out by Muslim scholars,” he concluded. (MW/Rz) (IAAS/SHY)
